Showers are celebrations as well as a way to help out new mothers. Not every baby shower will be the same. Jewish culture, for example, has baby celebrations after the birth. On some rare occasions, the men get a baby shower as well. More common is to allow men to attend a baby shower, traditionally a women only event.
